Hello and welcome to my blog! I’ve decided to start this blog as a way to stay professionally connected to my community and to be able to provide information and resources for both men and women on topics that I feel are interesting and important to share. In my work as a psychologist, I focus on women’s mental health and the impact our society has on the roles and messages that women are constantly coming in contact with. Women’s mental health encompasses a wide range of topics, including but certainly not limited to: eating disorders, body image, self-esteem, addiction, adolescent issues, pregnancy, postpartum, the transition into motherhood, parenting, and relationships. It is my intention to provide weekly posts on these various topics, as well as links to relevant articles and other resources. While this blog will focus on women’s mental health, it is intended to be a resource for men as well, in an effort to address how the same societal forces are impacting men as they are women, increase awareness, understanding, and to bridge differences. I welcome your comments, feedback, and suggestions regarding any information you see on this blog or feel should be discussed.
