What do I need to do before our first session?

Before our first session, I will send you new client intake forms via email. Please fill them out ahead of time, as I will not be able to meet with you until these forms are completed. This helps me gather the necessary background information so we can make the most of our time together.

What will the first session look like?

In our first session, we’ll briefly go over the intake forms you’ve completed. The majority of our time will be spent getting to know each other and laying the foundation for our work together. I will ask questions to better understand your story and your needs, and this initial conversation may continue into our second session. Feel free to bring a list of concerns, goals, or topics you would like to discuss, and don’t hesitate to ask me any questions you may have.

How frequently will sessions be?

Due to my relational and holistic approach, I only see clients who are committed to meeting weekly. This frequency allows us to build a strong therapeutic relationship and gives me the opportunity to better understand your presenting concerns. After about 4-6 months, we will reassess the frequency of sessions based on your needs.

For clients seeking specific, targeted nutrition support or functional lab testing, a longer initial session followed by "as needed" follow-up sessions may be more appropriate.

How long will we be working together for?

The duration of our work together is individualized based on your personal needs and progress. There is no set timeline; instead, we will work collaboratively to determine when you feel you've achieved your goals. When you reach a point of growth and confidence, we will mutually decide if it’s time to transition out of sessions or continue working on further goals.

What can I typically expect each session to look like?

I believe the therapeutic relationship is collaborative, and you are the expert of your own life. During our sessions, I trust you to guide the conversation by bringing the topics or areas of concern you would like to focus on. You will learn how to voice your needs and reclaim your autonomy in our work together, which can be a powerful shift—especially if you’ve struggled with people-pleasing tendencies. I’m here to support and empower you to take the lead in your own healing journey.

What are your fees?

My standard fee is $300 per session. I do offer a limited number of sliding-scale slots for those who are unable to afford my full fee and would benefit from financial support. Please reach out if you have any questions about my rates or would like to inquire about the sliding-scale option.

Payment is due in full on the day of your session. Your credit card information will be securely stored for automatic processing.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance, and I do not provide medical or psychotherapy diagnoses, which are typically required for insurance reimbursement. However, some insurances may cover services under CPT Code: 591T—Health and Wellbeing Coaching. It’s recommended that you contact your insurance provider ahead of time and ask the following questions:

Do I have coverage for health and wellness coaching services?
What is my deductible, and has it been met?
How many sessions does my insurance cover per year?
What is the reimbursement amount per session?

You may also be able to use your Flex Plan or Health Savings Account (HSA) for services. It’s best to check with your insurance provider for the specifics.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 48-hour cancellation policy due to limited availability in my schedule. If you miss an appointment or cancel less than 48 hours in advance, the session will be charged at the full rate. However, I understand that life happens, and I’m flexible with rescheduling. If you're able to reschedule within the same week, I will not charge the cancellation fee. Please reach out as soon as possible if something comes up!

How long are the sessions?

Sessions typically last 50 minutes, but we can adjust the time based on your needs. If you feel you need more time to dive deep into your journey, we can discuss longer sessions. Let me know what feels best for you.

What’s the difference between your approach and traditional therapy?

While there are many similarities and overlaps, the most notable difference is that I do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Instead of focusing on a diagnosis or symptom management, my approach is centered on helping you heal, grow, and reclaim your peace by addressing the root causes of what you’re experiencing. While my work shares some commonalities with therapy, it’s more about holistic support, growth and transformation, rather than clinical treatment.

Can you help me with specific issue?

My diverse training and background qualifies me to work with a wide variety of issues and concerns. If you are still unsure if I might be helpful in your unique situation, reach out and ask. I promise I will let you know honestly if I am qualified and comfortable supporting you, and if I'm not, I will refer you to someone who is!

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, I offer virtual sessions for clients who are unable to meet in person or prefer to work remotely. These sessions are just as effective and can be tailored to fit your unique needs, whether you’re near or far.

Are you a medical doctor?

I am a Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) and Functional Holistic Health Practitioner. I received my doctorate from Alliant International University. My post doctorate education and training is in Holistic and Functional Medicine and Clinical Nutrition. I am Board Certified through the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine, and attending Notre Dame of Maryland University for my Masters of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health.

Therefore, I do not practice medicine and do not diagnose or treat diseases or medical and mental health conditions. I focus my practice on promoting health and optimal function. My services are not meant to substitute or replace those of a medical doctor but to work in conjunction with them.
