A Different Way to Think About Food and Your Body

Most women don’t struggle because they lack willpower or discipline. They struggle because they’ve been taught to mistrust their bodies and follow rules that were never designed to last. I’m here to help you break free from diet culture and build a relationship with food that supports real change, so you can feel confident and finally experience the body of your dreams.

Hi, I'm dr. Jenn chrisman

Here to show you that healthy doesn’t have to be hard.

I’m a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Board Certified Nutritionist, and my work focuses on helping women build food freedom, lose weight sustainably, and feel confident in their bodies. I don’t believe in rigid diets, extreme plans, or doing things perfectly. I believe in nutrition that works in real life and supports lasting change. I’ve lived the frustration of trying to get it right with food and my body, and I bring both professional training and real experience into the way I guide women today.

A Supportive Approach to Nutrition That Fits Real Life

Working together is about simplifying food, not adding more rules. It’s a space to step out of diet culture, understand what your body actually needs, and build habits you can maintain. The goal is lasting change, not perfection, and a way of eating that supports both your health and how you want to feel in your body.

How We Can Work Together
MY OFFERINGS

Ways To Work With Me

There isn’t one right way to approach food, weight loss, or body confidence. The options below offer different levels of structure and support, depending on what you’re looking for right now. All are grounded in food freedom, sustainable nutrition, and an approach that fits real life.

  • A white bowl of yogurt topped with sliced bananas, blueberries, and walnuts on a round white table. Next to the bowl is a wooden spoon, and a glass of orange juice is also on the table. Part of a white couch with an orange pillow in the background.

    Weight Loss + Macro Coaching

This option is for women who want clear structure, measurable progress, and ongoing support around food and weight loss. We use macros as a practical tool to guide eating, build consistency, and support sustainable weight loss without falling into rigidity or obsession. You’ll receive weekly email check-ins, personalized nutrition and fitness plans, and high-touch text support throughout the week so you’re not trying to figure things out on your own.

    Food Freedom Coaching

This option is for women who know the real struggle isn’t just food, it’s the relationship with it. We’ll work together in ongoing one-on-one sessions to explore patterns, beliefs, and emotional drivers around eating, body image, and control. The focus is on understanding where these patterns came from and building a more trusting, stable relationship with food and your body. Weight loss may happen, but the work is centered on healing, insight, and long-term change.

    Functional Nutrition Support

This option is for women dealing with specific health concerns that require a more individualized, functional approach. We look at nutrition through a physiological lens, addressing things like metabolic health, hormone balance, digestive issues, or other ongoing symptoms. Support may include targeted nutrition strategies, supplementation, and, when appropriate, functional lab testing. The goal is to support your body at a root level while still honoring food freedom and sustainability.

what becomes possible

A Simpler Way to Eat and Live

Most women aren’t looking for more information. They’re looking for a way to stop feeling at odds with their bodies. This work creates space to return to something simpler and more stable, where eating feels supportive rather than stressful and confidence comes from consistency, not perfection. It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing what actually works, and letting that be enough.

FAQs

  • I offer meal suggestions, guidance, and a lot of practical resources with ideas and examples. What I don’t do is hand you a rigid plan you have to follow exactly. The goal is to help you understand how to build meals, how to think about food, and how to make decisions confidently on your own. That way, you’re not dependent on a plan or constantly wondering what you’re “allowed” to eat.

  • I don’t accept insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan. Many clients are also able to use HSA or FSA funds to pay for services, though eligibility varies by provider. I recommend checking with your insurance or HSA/FSA administrator to confirm coverage.

  • Yes. I work with a wide range of dietary needs and preferences, including allergies, intolerances, cultural considerations, and ethical choices. Nutrition guidance is always tailored to what you can and want to eat. At the same time, the goal is to support nourishment and flexibility rather than creating more restriction than necessary. We focus on building meals that work for your body and your life, within the parameters that matter to you.

  • The duration of our work together is individualized based on your personal needs and progress. There is no set timeline; instead, we will work collaboratively to determine when you feel you've achieved your goals. When you reach a point of growth and confidence, we will mutually decide if it’s time to transition out of sessions or continue working on further goals.

  • I am a Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) and Functional Holistic Health Practitioner. I received my doctorate from Alliant International University. My post doctorate education and training is in Holistic and Functional Medicine and Clinical Nutrition. I am Board Certified through the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine, and attending Notre Dame of Maryland University for my Masters of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health.

Therefore, I do not practice medicine and do not diagnose or treat diseases or medical and mental health conditions. I focus my practice on promoting health and optimal function. My services are not meant to substitute or replace those of a medical doctor but to work in conjunction with them.

  • Yes. Many women I work with have a history of disordered eating, chronic dieting, or long-standing struggles with food and body image. This work is designed to move away from restriction, rigid rules, and all-or-nothing patterns and toward a more stable, trusting relationship with food.

That said, this is nutrition-focused support, not a replacement for higher-level eating disorder treatment. If someone is currently in an acute eating disorder or requires medical or psychiatric stabilization, I will always recommend appropriate specialized care. My role is to support sustainable nourishment, food freedom, and body confidence in a way that is thoughtful, informed, and respectful of where you are.
